Pulling back the curtain on Raven and DarkZero’s latest collab ‘Cool Vibes’

Inspirations

To celebrate summer, we wanted to create a collection that would stand out from those that came before it. With that in mind, we decided to flip the focus away from graphic designs and on to fabrics, trim and colours.

Throughout the design phase, we wanted to stay focused on wearability, current lifestyle trends, but also staying true to the brand. Over the past few years, DarkZero has been building an incredibly identifiable brand, something that should be celebrated in an otherwise clouded industry. After much time spent mood-boarding, we decided to put full focus on the teams colours.

To carry through those inspirations, we tied the collection together with a jock tag on all garments which dons Pantone references of the collections colours, all of which are a pastel shade of the DarkZero brand.

With Cool Vibes, we wanted to celebrate each garments unique construction. The co-ord shorts and long sleeve tee are comprised of pastel colour blocked panelling throughout. For the long sleeve, we ran with a lightweight 180GSM jersey cotton which gives great breathability, even in the warm weather. For the shorts, we sampled several fabrics and finally settled on a 220GSM french terry cotton supplemented by a subtle poly blend.

The contrasting garment in the collection is the horizontal striped short sleeve tee. This felt like the perfect addition to give the collection some depth. The tee boasts the DarkZero text lockup on the chest and also the feature trim jock tag. To keep the garment light weight, the jock tag is an adhesive back woven label. Removing the need to add any heavyweight stitching.

Cool Vibes Socks

The first of two accessories in the drop are custom woven sports socks. Available in two colourways, with a custom woven DarkZero hem label, they act as the perfect suppliment to an entire fit.

Cool Vibes Hat

Rounding off the collection is the 5 panel skater cap. Packed with unique features such as custom floral body print, woven contrasting eyelets, rounded off with damask woven labels inside and out.
